This is Karin, who has her own jewellery label, Karin Andreasson. At the moment we both have a bit of a colour blocking and geometry obsession so it's always a pleasure to catch up, talk ideas and swoon over our latest palettes. Her current range features small 'connected' circles filled with coloured enamel, and a series of 'points' mapping out a triangular shape. I love that they are stand out pieces, but are so easy to wear with everyday outfits.
Karin has a bit of a collection of M.Hulot bags, but when she's running around with her children (lovely Uma featured here) she needs a small bag to keep her valuables close and the Strapped Howe fits the bill!
Have a look at some of her likes and loves below.
Favourite place in the world?
It has to be NY, have had some of my most crazy, fun, loving moments there.
Favourite London Landmark?
The Thames.
Last book read?
The Book Thief. Hard to find another book to read after that. Nothing seems quiet good enough.
Most treasured possession:
A long pendant necklace with a perfume bottle charm, that you can open... designed by my grandfather for my grandmothers 50th birthday. I used to sit in her lap opening and closing it, loving the smell of Chanel no5. It still smells of perfume.
Leather is:
Ever changing, beautiful, durable, strong-smelling.
Made in England is:
Good quality, great design, lovingly made.
My handbag contains:
Wallet, phone, diary/notebook, pens, lip balm, paracetamol, headphones, keys, antibacterial hand gel, sunglasses and more often than not, a treat!
Gigantic cardboard shoes. That's the first thing I noticed, and fell in love with, when Folklore first opened on Islington's Upper St in 2012. Well, that.... and an amazing outlook, aesthetic and some seriously desirable pieces.
The shoes, by Mark O'Brien, were commissioned by Folklore founder, Danielle Reid to use up the material waste from opening the shop. How fitting for a store dedicated to better living through sustainability, with attention to materials, manufacture, craftsmanship and design stories.
I thought you would enjoy seeing these collections of objects, and the monochrome palette, sensitive but strong, with its flashes of primaries. Pop down to Islington or browse their online store. Folklore carry the M.Hulot Agfa coin purse, Rollei iPad case and our navy/tan Zeiss keyring.
**Folklore are running a fantastic competition in the run up to Easter. Check out their FB or Twitter to see how you can win an Enamel bakeware set worth £65.
Just going through all my old specs( in preparation for new SS15) and came across these, the very first instructions and colour board for the Bronica Triangle and Minolta saddle bag from our SS14 collection. There has been a few tweaks and adjustments since then, both to palette and shape, but always love looking back to the excitement of the initial idea.

With ever changing pattern, crafted and colour driven pieces, curated shelves, corners plinths and wall spaces, Darkroom is surely every designers dream shop.
As they stock our Bronica clutches and Strapped Howe bags, I pretend to myself that I am 'working' whilst browsing and marvelling at what has been created in this unique space. For those that can't make it down to their bricks and mortar store, the Darkroom website does a darn fine job, with carefully created still life arrangements on blackened backdrops. Here are a few of my favourite pieces:
Darkroom Zig zag throw in orange
Own label throw sourced from a family run mill in Wales. This may end up on the Hulot bed very soon.
Georges Larondelle Brooch
Made from Ebony and Holly, I can't resist the monochrome geometry, softened by the natural materials and crafted finish.
Eleanor Bolton wrap necklace in red
Inspired by Mondrian this colour blocked rope necklace is lovingly wrapped and stitched with thread. Perfect in it's simplicity, I would wear it with a plain black top as the main feature.
Larke Gill frames
As a sometimes glasses wearer I know how hard it is to find the right specs. These clear edge beauties are understated yet individual, and to top it all off, are made in England using age-old production methods.
Hay Tower block in Coral
2000 note pages stacked on top of each, this gives you your Darkroom buying hit without breaking the bank! It grabbed my attention in store, with it's strikingly beautiful neon design fading from dark to light.

The Oval space sits just on the edge of the Regent's Canal, off Broadway Market, so you can certainly make a day of it: a canal side walk, a stop at one of the many artisan coffee shops, then guilt free shopping direct from the designers and cocktails on the terrace! A perfect Sunday in our eyes.
For full details of the event please see the FB page here.
We look forward to seeing you there and talking clutches, satchels and purses and what ever else you want to throw our way!
