As we gear up for Christmas, and we start thinking about shooting our AW14 collection it got me reminiscing about last years M.Hulot shoot- holed up in The Draper's Arms, Islington, on a snowy January day.

We were thankful to be indoors, in beautiful surroundings with beer on tap- what more could we ask for?! But, of course we were shooting in the English winter, in a period property.... These pictures of myself and our loyal model, Jess, make me smile. Here's hoping for a warmer shoot this Autumn/Winter!

We're so proud to be stocked at Pela'Studio, a pop-up concept store in Canberra, Australia. Noting the cross over between fashion, interiors and architecture the store brings together independent designers, grouping them with a focus on colour, texture, materials and craft and technique.

We were delighted to see our Nova flap shopper and Strapped Howe bag in these colour curated set ups.

Now many of you will think of Heal's  as a furniture store but in a relaunch, coinciding with the London Design Festival,  Heal's now also sell a range of lifestyle items, all with a focus on design and craftsmanship, many made in England. We were absolutely thrilled to be choosen to be part of this,  and have curated a capsule collection of classic M.Hulot pieces, some in new and exclusive colourways.

We thought we'd give you a little teaser, as we are very excited about the flash of metallic enveloping our signature earthy Garrard clutch bag, and the colour clash of our rose and red strapped Howe!

Excited that the new season bags are nearly with us, we thought that you lovely lot would like a little taster...

We are completely digging the Autumnal colour palette and the reinvention of the Cona and Garrard clutch bags in the new soft grainy leathers. With an added tactile quality you can squish and collapse the bags and the new lustre will just get shinier and shiner with age.

The Nova Flap Shopper is a brand new shape, and the perfect contemporary bag- smart enough for work but with a casual and youthful edge for those days off... and of course THAT detailing! Available in red/camel and navy/graphite. 

Borrowing from the satchel, but without the rigidity,  the Zassen cross body is perfectly simple and practical . Made from soft leather and suede it comes in milk choc and black for the classic amongst you.

As you can tell, we are swooning in anticipation, but also happily know that the days of Summer are not yet numbered. So, while the wait goes on a little longer why not shop our sale...

I,ve just come back from two days spent at my factory in Manchester, before they move their small production unit up to London. The reason for my visit was to oversee production of one of our more detailed and premium pieces, The Nova Flap Shopper.

All M.Hulot pieces made in the UK are crafted and hand finished by skilled leather workers and this particular shape requires rather a lot of attention. Watching the highly experienced, Rathna, as he moulds, hammers and hand stitches is a leather lovers dream!

Inspired by the industrial past of Manchester, and on my very last visit, I decided to take a little trip around the city. Having viewed the city from above, when riding on the tram way, I wanted to walk amongst the old industrial buildings. On my travels I came across the perfect image of a city embracing both its past and present.

Manchester I will miss you!

Our obsession with colour blocking continues for SS14, and we have updated with some beautiful painted stripes on natural skins as well as some tonal brights in matt Veg leather.We were in Manchester just last week to see the samples in development... and very soon we will have the chance to show them off!

July sees M.Hulot participate in London's most anticipated trade show, Scoop, which is housed between the Saatchi and Phillips Galleries, London. Now we've whet your appetite, we'll be sure to let you know how we get on...our very first trade show on home soil!

Working so far ahead behind the scenes can seem a little strange to those outside the fashion calendar, but is essential in order for all the hard work done by our suppliers and makers to reach our stores and lovely customers on time.

In the meantime, you can look forward to the new AW13 pieces, busily being worked on right now, and due in August and September...

We are taking part in a pop- up with Jeweller Kirsten Goss and boutique scarf label, Age of Reason.

Housed in Kirsten's beautiful store, in the most English of Kensington streets, the pop- up will take place until mid- July and is the perfect opportunity to peruse and shop all the accessories you could ever wish for. What an outfit you could make!

To launch the collaboration we are having a preview day on 13th June, where you can come and meet the designers, and where M.Hulot will be offering 10% off.

We've just been on a trip to Istanbul to oversee some production and look at tanneries. Despite the hardwork, it's never a chore to go to one of the most revered cities in the world, and you cant beat mixing up the world of Turkish leather goods with a potter around the local neighbourhoods.
