It's a beautifully curated site featuring the stylists own photographic and styling work, as well as carefully selected posts, all in keeping with Ruth's entirely unique take on the world around her.

Ruth is based in Dublin, and even as a Londoner looking in, I cannot help but feel envious of her exploration of Ireland and its capital city. Often working with the concept store Envoy of Belfast as well as Irish fashion designers, the blog is a refreshing insight into a fashion and design scene that is new to me.

Often losing myself in the incredible imagery on offer, I was delighted to see M.Hulot featured on the sight today. Sitting alongside like-minded designers, with a focus on craftsmanship, simplicity and detail,  M.Hulot feels right at home.

Although far from London, when I found a factory in greater Manchester willing and able to make my bags and leather goods, I was over the moon. For part of my childhood I lived in Warrington,  so just the idea of journeys up North was enough to fill me with excitable nostalgia.

Now manufacturing in England is no mean feat, but to find a factory that listens to the demands of a small scale label is very rare, and in our Northern factory we have found just that.

There are so many elements that go into making a bag: from cutting out the pieces (sometimes done by hand and sometimes with a cookie like cutter) to stitching, buffing the edges, painting the edges, drying and packing to name a few. All require a certain amount of skill and hand finishing. I love that you can see the workmanship of M.Hulot bags, even in their finished state.

This is what makes the bags unique and gives them an edge and artisan quality that is impossible to replicate when mass produced.

Although not without it's challenges, my last trip to oversee the AW12 production, was filled with delight at seeing the styles going through and completed. Wrapped up in all things technical, I just about managed to take a few snaps to share with you.

Just as you lovely lot are getting used to the idea of Autumn Winter being upon us, it is well known that fashion folk are months ahead, dreaming of the Summer sunshine of SS13.

At the end of September M.Hulot are off to Paris to exhibit this Summer collection to international buyers and press. We're keeping our fingers and toes crossed until then!

In the meantime we are busy preparing and thought you would like to see the invites that those lucky fashionistas are receiving.

The first one is the M.Hulot invite, previewing the brand new Cona bowling bag, a fresh and grown take on a retro piece. Expect irresistible colour combos and heaviest bridal leather for you to pore over...

The second is the overall invite for Capsule, a wonderfully laid back exhibition showcasing premium casual wear. Exuding such happiness, this illustration makes us even more excited to participate, and proud to be part of such a creative union.

We look forward to sharing our Parisian adventure in a few weeks time...

This weekend M.Hulot was featured on laid back fashion website, The Cool, which focuses on both emerging and established Uk designers.

We love it when someone has a complete understanding of the M.Hulot ethos, and The Cool contributor, Sarah Fox, has done us proud.

Our ever popular Prussia satchel has been featured in today's Timeout Style Agenda, in its up to date two tone combo of deep green and chocolate.

We're so pleased it's been placed alongside some super leather bow shoes and tortoiseshell specs. What an outfit the three could make!

Earlier this year I travelled to Istanbul to visit one of the factories we work with, here at M.Hulot.

My first trip to this wonderful melting pot of East meets West, has become part of the M.Hulot DNA, and opened my eyes to the opportunities of working with factory units in this great city.

Accompanied by the M.Hulot husband, and his trusty Olympus, we took in the sights of the old city; the historical and religious buildings and life in and surrounding the Grand Bazaar.
